Domain 3: Instruction
When it comes to domain 3, this is all about the teaching portion of being and educator. It is important to keep in mind that instruction is dependent on the previous two domains. At the foundations of instruction is communication. Communication with students is extremely important and without it teaching is impossible. Once communication is established the teacher can move on to asking questions to prompt discussion among students which is one of the most effective ways to ensure student involvement and overall comprehension. In order to maximize learning teachers should strive to maximize engagement because the more engaged a student is the more he or she will see value in learning. Instruction is incomplete without assessment and using formative assessment while teaching is a skill that should not be overlooked.
I plan on demonstrating the domain of instruction by efficiently communicating with my students. This could include elaborating on a certain concept so that my students understand what I am saying or by sending thorough emails to my students when they have a question of any sorts. Going along with the emails, to demonstrate responsiveness I would be adamant about checking my email frequently to see if any students are attempting to contact me. I will also demonstrate this domain by implementing many kinds of formative assessment with tech tools such as quizizz, nearpod, and others. Also, I could leverage the tech tools of ClassFlow and Gynzy to design engaging presentations to get my students excited about learning. I hope to have a teaching style that allows for student involvement and fosters questioning between me and students and discussion between students.
