Domain 2: Classroom Environment
The second domain of Danielson's Framework revolves around the atmosphere and vibe of the classroom. Considering this is where the bulk of learning and teaching take place, it is imperative to establish a healthy and productive learning environment. This can be done by emulating the principles as stated in domain two. The successful classroom environment starts with the teacher student relationship. The only way to have a healthy and effective learning environment is if the teacher and student have a mutual respect for one another which is called rapport. Additionally, the students must have a respect for one another. It is also imperative that the teacher can manage the classroom procedures and the student behavior.
In the future, I hope to establish and maintain a classroom where learning is encouraged and everyone respects each other. To do this I could decorate my room so that it motivates and inspires my students to want to learn. I could also implement certain social activities so that the student can interact with each other and develop respectful relationships. I also hope to demonstrate this domain by organizing the desks so that the notes are visible from every spot and so that every student is accessible for me to come and give individual assistance. It is also vital that I keep the class in control when switching from lecture to lab. I will do this by giving the students a set amount of time for the transition period so that they move with haste which will help avoid wasting time. A final way I will demonstrate this domain is by establishing personal connections with every student to see them as an indicicual and appreciate them more.
